Looking to get out of the city? Take a car or public transit to get to any of the below destinations and feel like you're not in Kansas anymore:

Alley Pond Golf Center (and Alley Pond Park!)
Play a round of Mini Golf then go across the street to the Alley Pond Park! You'll find playgrounds, barbeque areas, and courts and fields galore!
$6 under 13/$7.50 for adults per round

Queens County Farm Museum (psst... it's very close to Alley Pond Park)
Dates back to 1697 and isn't just a museum! There are events for kiddos, animals, a farmers market, plus it's where our Head of Design and Production Rebekah got hitched! General admission is free to individuals and families, except during special events.

Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge (and a beach!)
This is one of the best places in New York City to observe migrating species (if you're into that sort of thing). It cover 20 square miles and is a hop, skip and a jump away from several of the newly re-opened beaches in the city.

A list of NYC playgrounds with shade!
Let's face it, the sun is great and all... but it can be WAY to hot for us and our kiddos. These shady playgrounds in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens offer a break from the sun, but no shortage of fun.
